Lowlight started as a lounge act covering the American Standards songbook and Broadway numbers. When the Bob Mould and Posies influences crept in, Cris and Carl returned to their distant roots: writing pop songs with The Tenants, the band where they met. Their current partnership in Lowlight is in its second decade of evolution.
